SERVED FROM JULY 8, 1942 UNTIL OCTOBER 11, 1945. SERVED WITH THE 74TH SIGNAL COMPANY AND LATER WITH COMPANY 'C', 255TH INFANTRY REGIMENT, 63RD INFANTRY DIVISION. SAW ACTION IN THE SICILY, NAPLES-FOGGIA, ROME-ARNO, SOUTHERN FRANCE, RHINELAND AND CENTRAL EUROPE CAMPAIGNS. WAS WOUNDED IN ACTION ON MARCH 26, 1944 WHILE IN ITALY. AWARDED THE PURPLE HEART, GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL, EUROPEAN-AFRICAN-MIDDLE EASTERN CAMPAIGN MEDAL WITH 6 BRONZE SERVICE STARS, WWII VICTORY MEDAL, ARMY OF OCCUPATION MEDAL WITH GERMANY CLASP AND THE MERITORIOUS UNIT CITATION.
