Volunteered for Air Corps, May, 1944. Trained at Ft. Walter, Texas, AND sent to Mindanao, Phillippine Islands. Joined National Guard Unit. He was given a machete to cut down a path through the jungle so he could find Japanese soldiers. Later was transferred to Japan for about a year and a half. Back home IN THE fall OF 1946.
