Activity During WWII

Enlisted 5 February 1944 at Louisville, Kentucky. Reported aboard the USS Lackawanna AO-40, a Kennebec class type T2 fleet oiler. Assigned to the Pacific Fleet as part of the Mariana Islands Operation. On 23 September 1944 transferred to the USS Fergus APA-82, a Gilliam class attack transport assigned to the Pacific Fleet. Rating of Machinist's Mate Third Class Petty Officer.
