ENLISTED IN MILITARY SERVICE IN 1943. RECEIVED TRAINING IN THE AMERICAN THEATER AT CAMP ROBERTS AT SAN MIGUEL, CALIFORNIA; SIOUX FALLS, SOUTH DAKOTA; YUMA, ARIZONA; AND SHREVEPORT, LOUISIANA. SERVED OVERSEAS IN THE EUROPEAN-AFRICAN-MIDDLE EASTERN THEATER IN THE EUROPEAN THEATER OF OPERATIONS (ETO) DURING THE WAR. PARTICIPATED IN THE RHINELAND, ARDENNES-ALSACE (BATTLE OF THE BULGE), AND CENTRAL EUROPE CAMPAIGNS. AWARDED THE AIR MEDAL WITH 1 BRONZE OAK LEAF CLUSTER, GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL, AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL, EUROPEAN-AFRICAN-MIDDLE EASTERN CAMPAIGN MEDAL WITH 3 BRONZE SERVICE STARS, AND WWII VICTORY MEDAL. HONORABLY DISCHARGED IN 1945 WITH THE RANK OF STAFF SERGEANT AND ISSUED THE HONORABLE SERVICE LAPEL BUTTON.
