Rank: Corporal. Inducted into the United States Marine Corps July 4, 1942 and received his Basic Combat Infantry Training at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, California. Served in the Pacific Theater and experienced combat with Alpha Battery, 1st Battalion, 12th Artillery Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine ‘Fighting Third’ Division. Participated in the Battle of Guam, a United States territory in the Mariana Islands (Invasions Dates: July 21-August 10, 1944) Code Name: Operation Forager. Saturday, July 22, 1944 he died of wounds suffered in combat during the liberation of the island and Buried at Sea by Administrative Decision. He is memorialized in the Tablets of the Missing located at the Honolulu National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, ‘Punchbowl’ Hawaii. His name is inscribed on Panel Eight of the Memorial Wall located at the Asan Bay Overlook, Guam. Decoration and Citation: Purple Heart. This American Patriot was awarded the Purple Heart, who so gallantly gave his life for his country.
