Rank: Private 1st Class. Inducted into the United States Marine Corps February 3, 1942 and received his Basic Combat Infantry Training at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, California. Served in the Pacific Theater and experienced combat with Fox Company, 2nd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine ‘The Old Breed’ Division. Participated in the Battle of Peleliu, one of the Palau Islands of the Western Pacific (Invasion Dates: September 15-November 25, 1944), Code Name: Operation Stalemate II. Thursday, September 28, 1944 he was killed in action and buried in the United States Armed Forces battlefield cemetery on Peleliu. After the cessation of hostilities with Japan, his remains were returned to his country and family, with interment in the Greenwood Memorial Park Cemetery, Phoenix, Arizona. Decoration and Citation: Purple Heart. This American Patriot was awarded the Purple Heart, who so gallantly gave his life for his country.
