Activity During WWII

He joined the U.S. Army Air Forces on November 7, 1942 and trained to be a gunner. He flew 120 combat missions as a B-17 waist gunner for the 571 Bomb Squadron. His plane was shot down on the 120th mission and he was a German Prisoner of War from June 5, 1944 until July 1945. He was released from active duty on November 4, 1945.
