Activity During WWII

Enlisted in the Army in April of 1941 and trained in Camp Claiborne, Louisiana. He also trained in Australia and at New Caledonia. He saw action in Guadalcanal, Fiji, Bougainvillea and the Philippine Islands. He was killed during heavy fighting at Leyte, Philippine Islands on February 28, 1945. He was awarded the Combat Badge, the Good Conduct Medal, The Presidential Unit Citation Ribbon, the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon with three stars, the Philippine Liberation Ribbon and the Purple Heart.
