Activity During WWII

He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in July, 1945 immediately upon graduation from High School. He was only 17 years old and needed his father's signature. He was sent to Bainbridge, Maryland for Basic Training. Upon completion, he functioned as a Mineman at the Hawthorne Ammunition Depot in Nevada, dismantling boosters, rockets and explosives. After brief Military Police duty, he was honorably discharged in Oakland, California in August 1946. He received the WWII Victory Medal, and the Cold War Certificate.
