Activity During WWII

Rank: Corporal. Inducted into the United States Marine Corps January 15, 1942 and received his Basic Combat Infantry Training at the Marine Corps Depot, San Diego, California. Served in the Pacific Theater and experienced combat with Bravo Company, 2nd Amphibian Tractor Battalion attached to the 2nd Marine ‘The Silent Second’ Division. Participated in the amphibious assault on the island of Tinian, Mariana Islands Campaign. Monday, July 24, 1944 he was killed in action on the first day of the invasion and buried in the Marine Corps Battlefield Cemetery on Tinian. After the cessation of hostilities with Japan, his remains were returned to his country and family, with interment in the Jefferson City National Cemetery, Jefferson City, Missouri on January 10, 1949. This Marine, an American Patriot, so gallantly gave his life for his country.
