Activity During WWII

Served in the 362nd Fighter Group, 377th Fighter Squadron as a P-47 Thunderbolt pilot. He flew out of Headcorn, United Kingdom. On May 23, 1944, he and his P-47, 'bellied in' over France in a corn field. He tRied to hide up in a tree, but was captured by the Germans and taken as a Prisoner of War to Stalag Luft III camp for aN 11 month period. Afterwards he was on a forced march to NeureMberg, Germany and liberated there.
