Activity During WWII

Technician Fifth Grade-Quartermaster Supply Clerk. Inducted with basic training at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indianapolis, Indiana. Served in the Panama Canal Zone until reassigned to Camp Butner, North Carolina, then Camp Shelby, Mississippi, for further training. Assigned overseas to Company A, 411th Infantry Regiment, 103rd Infantry Division, attached to the U.S. Seventh Army, during the Rhineland and Central Europe Campaigns. Upon arriving at Marseilles, France, engaged in combat throughout the Vosges Mountains into the Rhine Valley. Then drove past Stuttgart until crossing the Danube River at Ulm. While occupying Innsbruck, Austria, hostilities ended in Europe. Returned to Camp Atterbury, Indiana, for separation from the service.
