Activity During WWII

He was 16 years old when he signed up to join the Navy and soon after went to boot camp at Farragut, Idaho. After boot camp, he was assigned to the Carrier Air Support Unit 7, Naval Air Base, Seattle, Washington. Next assignment was to the Carrier Air Support Unit F-42 on the Island of Samar in the Philippine Islands. He was discharged at the U.S. Naval Base, Bremerton, Washington, as a Carpenters Mate 3rd Class. He Received The Asiatic-Pacific Area Campaign Medal, The American Area Campaign Medal, and The WWII Victory Medal.
