Activity During WWII

He was a member of the 166th Liaison Squadron (Commando) 1st Air Commando Group, American Volunteer Group. He graduated from Officer Candidate (Glider Pilot Training) in 1943 and served in the China-Burma-India Theater of Operations. They were flying the hump in CG-4A Gliders that were towed by C-47 Transport Aircraft to keep the Flying Tigers and other Groups resupplied in China. His awards include Glider Pilot Wings, WWII Victory Medal, Air Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with 2 Battle Stars, Meritorious Unit Commendation and 2 Presidential Unit Citations. He also holds the Chinese Medal of the Armed Forces (Grade 1) and the China War Memorial Medal.
