Enlisted and was sent to U.S. Military Camp in North Carolina and on to Japanese Interpreter School being trained in the language and Japanese military ranks and weapons. Served in Tsingtao, China as PFC-G2 where Marines assisted with the surrender and disarmament of Japanese troops. The troops were then transported back to Japan.
