Activity During WWII

After attending Fort Scott High School, he entered the United States Marine Corps during the fall of 1941, and he served through WWII with the 2nd Marine Division. He was a paratrooper with 14 jumps and survived three beach landings at the battles for Guadalcanal, Tarawa, and Saipan.
