He served in the European Theater of Operations from 1942 to 1945. He served in North Africa, Sicily, Italy, France and Germany with the 6th Army Transportation Corps as a captain of an amphibious landing craft. He was usually stationed on a Navy ship. He remained in the Army Reserve after WWII.
