Enlistment date of active service: 2/17/44; Date of Separation: 4/24/46; 4 Months Private, Basic Training, Infantry (Ft. Benning, Georgia). Military occupations: Scout: Served with Company C, 409th Infantry, 103rd Infantry Division. Served as a scout in a rifle platoon. Operated with another squad as lookout and observer of any enemy concentration or snipers. Served in England, France, Germany and Austria for approximately 10 months. Served as automotive mechanic for 3 months with 2nd Infantry, 5th Infantry Division at Camp Campbell, Kentucky. Did major unit repair and replacement on military vehicles.
