22 months in the far east theater. wounded in action in Australia and saw action against Japan. spent Christmas of 1943 engaged in one of the major pacific battles. During the coral sea battle he was a member of a transport plane crew carrying supplies to the front. during the Buena engagement he was wounded and spent over 9 months in a hospital.
