Pilot of b-17 'Bessie the jap basher' that was attacked by 20 zero fighters while bombing shipping off Guadalcanal and crash landed in domo cove. He survived the crash and was taken prisoner by the japanese army, aoba battalion, takeda unit commanded by 1st Lieutenant yoshi takeda, and executed. air medal, purple heart, distinguished flying cross.
