Activity During WWII

Graduated from Ordnance Officers School in December, 1942. Assigned to the 389th Bomb Group stationed at Hethel, England. On September 5, 1944 he volunteered to go on a bombing mission to Karlsruhe, Germany as an observer. Their B-24 was shot down just prior to dropping their bombs. He spent 8 months as a Prisoner of War. Released by the Russian army around May 1, 1945.
