Rank: Private 1st Class. This United States Marine served in the Pacific Theater and experience combat with the 59th Replacement Battalion attached to the First Marine ‘the Old Breed’ Division. He participated in the amphibious assault on the Island of Peleliu, one of the Palau Islands of the Western Pacific (Battle Dates: September 15-November 25, 1944), Code Name: Operation Stalemate II. Wednesday, September 20, 1944 he died of wounds sustained in combat and buried at Sea by Administrative Decision. In Honor and Memory, he is memorialized in the Tablets of the Missing at the American Cemetery and Memorial located at Fort Bonifacio in Manila, Philippine Islands. Decoration and Citation: The Purple Heart was awarded to this American Patriot posthumously, who so gallantly gave his life for his country.
