Activity During WWII

2nd and 1st Lieutenant, Territorial Guard from December 7, 1941 to August 1942. Liaison Officer, 27th Infantry, October to March 1943. Platoon Leader, Rifle Company May to August 1943. Served 25 months in European and Pacific theaters of operation as company executive officer and platoon commander. Wounded at Guadalcanal in August 1943 and after hospitalization, served as Company Executive Officer, Rifle Company, 386th Infantry from April 1944 to June 1944. Served 5 months in Pacific as aide to general John R. Hodge.
