Activity During WWII

Rank: Private 1st Class. Inducted into the United States Army April 6, 1942 at Providence, Rhode Island and deployed to the European Theater after the completion of his combat infantry training. Served with Headquarters Company, the Sixth Port of Embarkation and stationed in the area of Marseilles, France. On Thursday, June 28, 1945, he died in a non-battle incident and buried in the Luynes battlefield cemetery, Aix-En-Provence, France. After the cessation of hostilities in Europe, his remains were transferred to the Rhone American Cemetery located at Draguignan (Var), France. This Solider, an American Patriot, so gallantly gave his life for his country and received the following decorations: American Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.
