Activity During WWII

Worked on the ALCAN highway project the road was intended to bring supplies to Alaska overland in case a Japanese invasion cut the sea lanes. She worked with army engineers and civilians that had been turned down for military service but still wanted to do their bit to help out. Conditions were very harsh and demanding. Her employer was Bechtel-Price-Callahan. The women worked in mess facilities.
