He was killed in action June 8, 1944, during the Normandy invasion while serving as a Private with the First Army. He was 20 years old. He enlisted February 28, 1942, and received his paratroop training at Fort Benning, Georgia. He was buried at St. Laurent, France. Following a requiem mass, was buried in Holy Cross Cemetery.
