Activity During WWII

Rank: Sergeant. A member of the Oklahoma Army National Guard inducted into Federal Service September 16, 1940 at McAlester, Oklahoma. Deployed to the European Theater after completing his Basic Combat Infantry Training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma and Camp Barkeley, Texas. Served with Fox Company, 2nd Battalion, 180th Infantry Regiment, 45th Infantry 'Thunderbird' Division attached to the U.S. Seventh Army. Killed in Action Saturday, June 3, 1944 in area of Velletri, Italy and buried in the Nettuno battlefield cemetery in Italy. After the cessation of hostilities in Europe, his remains were returned to his family, with interment in the Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in McAlester, Oklahoma. This Native American Indian, a Choctaw Code Talker and an American Patriot, so gallantly gave his life for his country.
