He Served with the 468th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Automatic Weapons Battalion, Battery D and C from January 28, 1943, in the 3rd Army under George Smith Patton, Jr. as a half track driver, being separated from the Army December 31, 1945. He served in the Campaigns of Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe, including the Battle of the Bulge. He earned the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, WWII Victory Medal, American Theater Campaign Ribbon, and Rifle Marksman Badge.
