Rank: Private. Inducted into the United States Army July 3, 1943 at Denver, Colorado. Deployed to the European Theater of Operations after the completion of his Infantry Training. Served as a member of Able Company, 10th Engineer Combat Battalion, an element of the 3rd Infantry ‘Rock of the Marne’ Division attached to the U.S. Fifth Army. Killed in Action Sunday, July 16, 1944 in the area of Rome, Rome-Arno Campaign and buried in a Nettuno Battlefield Cemetery in Italy. After the cessation of hostilities in Europe, his remains were returned to his family, with interment in the Grand View Cemetery in Fort Collins, Colorado. This Soldier, an American Patriot so gallantly gave his live for his country.
