SERVED FROM MAY 22, 1942 UNTIL DECEMBER 5, 1944. SERVED WITH COMPANY 'E', 339TH INFANTRY REGIMENT, 85TH INFANTRY DIVISION. WAS WOUNDED ON APRIL 2, 1944 AT CASSINO, ITALY WHEN A BOMB FELL IN A LARGE HOLE CAUSING HIM TO LOSE HIS RIGHT ARM. AWARDED THE PURPLE HEART, AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL, EUROPEAN-AFRICAN-MIDDLE EASTERN CAMPAIGN MEDAL AND THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL.
