SERVED IN WWII WITH THE 1ST INFANTRY DIVISION (THE BIG RED ONE), 16th INFANTRY REGIMENT, COMPANY G, IN THE EUROPEAN THEATER OF OPERATIONS. HE DIED OF HIS WOUNDS FROM SMALL ARMS FIRE ON SEPTEMBER 17, 1944. AWARDED: PURPLE HEART MEDAL, COMBAT INFANTRYMAN BADGE, EUROPEAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL WITH TWO BATTLE STARS, GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL, WWII VICTORY MEDAL.
