Activity During WWII

Rank: Private 1st Class. On July 27, 1943, he entered the United States Marine Corps from Utah, receiving his Combat Infantry Training at the Marine Recruit Depot, San Diego, California. Served in the Pacific Theater of Operations, experiencing combat with India Company, 3rd Battalion, 21st Marine Regiment a subordinate unit of the 3rd Marine 'the Fighting Third' Division. He participated in the amphibious assault on the Island of Guam, a United States territory in the Mariana Islands (Battle Dates: July 21–August 10, 1944) Code Name: Operation Forager. Killed in Action Monday, July 24, 1944 during the liberation/occupation of the island and buried in a Marine Corps battlefield cemetery on Guam. After the cessation of hostilities with Japan, they returned his remains to his family for burial, with interment in the Bear River City Cemetery, Bear River City, Utah. In Remembrance and Honor of the Brave, his name appears on the Guam Memorial Wall Panel, Three located at the Asan Bay Overlook. This Marine, an American Patriot, so gallantly gave his life for his country.
