Activity During WWII

Rank: Private 1st Class. On October 9, 1942, he entered the United States Army at Milwaukee, Wisconsin and deployed to the European Theater of Operations after the completion of his combat infantry training. He served with the 60th Infantry Battalion, an element of the 9th Armored 'Phantom' Division, attached to the United States First Army. Killed in Action Saturday, March 3, 1945 during the capture/occupation of the Bridge at Remagen, Germany and buried in a battlefield cemetery in Ellpen, Belgium. After the cessations of hostilities in Europe, they transferred his remains, with interment in the Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery in Henri-Chapelle, Belgium. This Soldier, an American Patriot awarded the Purple Heart posthumously, who so gallantly gave his life for his country.
