Rank: Private. On December 13, 1942, he entered the United States Marine Corps from Colorado, receiving his Basic Combat Infantry Training at the Marine Recruit Depot, San Diego, California. Deployed to the Pacific Theater of Operations, where he served with the 3rd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment a subordinate unit of the 1st Marine 'the Old Breed' Division. He participated in the amphibious assault on the Island of Peleliu, one of the Palau Islands of the Western Pacific (Battle Dates: September 15-November 25, 1944), Code Name: Operation Stalemate II. Tuesday, October 3, 1944 he died of wounds sustained in combat and buried at Sea by Administrative Decision. In remembrance of the Brave, they have recorded his name in the Tablets of the Missing at the Manila American Cemetery in the Philippine Islands. His family has placed a Memorial Marker at the Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado in Memory of there Proud Marine. Decorations: Purple Heart, Marine Corps Combat Action Ribbon, American Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal. This Marine an American Patriot, awarded the Purple Heart posthumously, who so gallantly gave his life for his country.
