Was a Commander when he arrived at Amphibious Training Base, Solomons, Maryland. He became Commander, LCI (L) Flotilla 2. Later became Commander LCS (L) Flotilla 4, whose ships participated in the Invasion of Okinawa and achieved very commendable results in the defense against Kamikazes. Retired as a Rear Admiral.
