Activity During WWII

Rank: Technician 5th Grade. On March 11, 1941, he entered the United States Army at New York City, New York, deployed to the European Theater of Operations upon the completion of his combat infantry training. He served with the 34102nd Convoy Truck Company, an element of the U.S. Army Quartermaster Corps. This convoy, known as the ‘Red Ball Express’ expedited cargo to the Front Lines, which his company was part of. On Tuesday, March 27, 1945, he died in a non-battle incident and buried in a battlefield cemetery at Vardis, France. After the cessation of hostilities in Europe, his remains were returned to his family for burial, with interment August 30, 1949 at the Long Island National Cemetery in Farmingdale, New York. This Soldier, an American Patriot so gallantly gave up his life for his country.
