Rank: Private. On November 6, 1942, he entered the United States Army at Camp Blanding Florida, later deployed to the Pacific Theater of Operations where he served with the 169th Infantry Regiment a subordinate unit of the 43rd Infantry ‘Winged Victory’ Division. He participated in the assault on the Island of New Georgia located in the Solomon Islands (Battle Dates: June 20-October 7, 1943) Code Name: Operation Cartwheel. Reported as Missing in Action, lost at sea Friday, July 14, 1944 and in Remembrance of the Brave, his name is recorded in the Tablets of the Missing, memorialized at the Manila American Cemetery located at Fort Bonifacio, Philippine Islands. This Soldier received the following awards posthumously, Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He was an American Patriot, who so gallantly gave his life in the defense of his country.
