Served in Company K, 149th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Battalion, 75th Brigade, 38th Infantry Division 'Avengers of Bataan' in the Pacific Theater of Operations. He was at Luzon in the Philippine Islands taking part in the capture of the last fortified and defended hilltop in the Zambales Mountains near Clark Field. Awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge, American Defense Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Theater and Philippine Liberation Medals each with 2 campaign stars and bronze arrowhead for making an assault on enemy shores, and the WWII Victory Medal.
