Activity During WWII

Rank: Private 1st Class. On May 12, 1942, he entered the United States Army at Pueblo, Colorado, later deployed to the Mediterranean Theater of Operations upon the completion of his combat infantry training. Served with the Second Battalion, 30th Infantry Regiment a subordinate unit of the Third Division ‘Rock of the Marne’ Division attached to the U.S. Fifth Army. Killed in Action Saturday, October 16, 1943 near the Volturno River, Italian Campaign and buried in the Battlefield Cemetery in Avellino, Italy. After the cessation of hostilities in Europe, his remains were returned to his family for burial, with interment at the Elmwood Cemetery in Brighton, Colorado. This Soldier, an American Patriot so gallantly gave his life in the defense of his country.
