Activity During WWII

Rank: Private 1st Class. On September 6, 1940, he entered the United States Marine Corps from Michigan, receiving his Combat Infantry Training at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Islands, South Carolina. Deployed to the Pacific Theater of Operations, where he served as a Rifleman assigned to Easy Company, Second Battalion, Fifth Marine Regiment a subordinate unit of the First Marine ‘the Old Breed’ Division. His division participated in the invasion of Guadalcanal (Battle Dates: August 7, 1942-Febuary 9, 1943) Solomon Islands Campaign, Code Name: Operation Watchtower. Reported Missing in Action, Lost at Sea Wednesday, October 7, 1942 during battle against the Imperial Japanese forces. In remembrance of the Brave, his name is recorded in the Tablets of the Missing, memorialized at the American Cemetery located at Fort Bonifacio, in Manila, Philippine Islands. This Marine, an American Patriot, awarded the Purple Heart posthumously, who so gallantly his life in the defense of his country.
