SERVED FROM APRIL 12, 1943 UNTIL NOVEMBER 11, 1945. SERVED WITH THE 17TH AIRBORNE DIVISION. SERVED OVERSEAS IN ENGLAND, FRANCE, BELGIUM AND GERMANY. SAW ACTION IN THE RHINELAND, ARDENNES-ALSACE AND CENTRAL EUROPE CAMPAIGNS. WOUNDED IN ACTION ON JANUARY 8, 1945 WHILE IN BELGIUM. AWARDED THE BRONZE STAR MEDAL, PURPLE HEART, GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL, AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL, EUROPEAN-AFRICAN-MIDDLE EASTERN CAMPAIGN MEDAL WITH 3 BRONZE SERVICE STARS, WWII VICTORY MEDAL AND THE COMBAT INFANTRYMAN BADGE.
