Activity During WWII

He served his country with courage and distinction with the 8th Air Force in England as a navigator on a B-17 Flying Fortress with the 390th Bomb Group. He flew six missions and although wounded in action, he recovered and returned to his bomb group and flew six more missions before the war ended in 1945. For his heroism, he received the Purple Heart and the Air Medal with an Oak Leaf Cluster.
