enlisted after the pearl harbor bombing, trained at camp Chaffee, Arkansas, then joined the 6th armored division. Later selected for officer candidate school and then transferred to the 1850th headquarters company. Investigated service related accidents, deaths and plane crashes as assistant to the inspector general. While working for the judge advocates office, he attended court martial proceedings.
