He was a Waist Gunner on a B-17 Flying Fortress with the 91st Bombardment Group. Based from England, he was on a mission over Anklam, Germany, when his plane was rammed by an enemy fighter and he was sadly lost on October 9th, 1943, during the liberation of occupied Europe.
