Activity During WWII

Celestine Morgan, known as Sally, was a captain of the air raid wardens of the west side of Detroit. She had a command post in her basement with black-out drapes at the windows, where the messenger would report to her from the wardens in the area. Wardens had a full block of houses and had to report anyone outside lights on in the house, and the different bombs that were dropped by aircraft planes, B-17 and B-24. All members made dolls for poor children at Christmas.
