Activity During WWII

Enlisted February, 1943. Volunteered for Darby's Rangers, 4th Battalion. Landings in North Africa, Sicily, and Italy. Part of invasion force at Anzio, Italy. Also a member of the First Special Service Force (FSSF) Headquarters Detachment, 1st Regiment with landings in Southern France. Finally the 474th Infantry Regiment, as part of the liberation of Norway. The First Special Service Force was awarded the Congressional Gold medal as a unit in 2013.
