Activity During WWII

He proudly served his country when he entered into service with the 103rd Observation Squadron of the Pennsylvania National Guard on February 17, 1943. He began duty with the 5th Technical Air Communication Squadron of the 5th Air Force in New Guinea. He was killed in action during an enemy strafing raid while on combat liaison duty with the 9th Australian Division during the capture of Finschafen, New Guinea on September 14, 1943. He held the rank of Captain.
