Activity During WWII

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Air Forces during WWII. He flew transport planes and gliders in the European Theater from 1942 to 1946. He co-piloted a glider that flew across enemy lines in Germany in 1945. After landing they were pinned down by sniper fire. He was honorably discharged as a 1st Lieutenant and was awarded the Air Medal.
