Activity During WWII

He was stationed on Tinian Island, in the Mariana Islands. After a U.S. naval bombardment nearly destroyed the airfield in Tinian in July, 1944, the U.S. Navy Construction Battalions (Seabees) started building it up again so that the B-29 Superfortress bombers could launch from the island.
