Served in the Pacific Theater of operations on board the USS Teton AGC-14, a Mount McKinley class amphibious Force Command Ship and the USS Rawlins APA-226 at wars end. The USS Teton arrived at Pearl Harbor on 19 January 1945 to take on Amphibious Group 12 departing in convoy to the Philippine Islands, arriving on 28 January 1945. Sailed on 27 March 1945 as flagship of task force 51.13.1 for Okinawa arriving on 1 April 1945. Returned to the Subic Bay, Philippine Islands on 11 June 1945. 2 September 1945, present for the surrender of the Japanese at Tokyo Bay. Sailed for Guam and San Francisco 25 September 1945 arriving on 16 October 1945. Rating of Radioman Third Class Petty Officer.
